As I keep getting stronger, I find myself developing obsessions with exercises that I once deemed impossible. Lately, that exercise is PUSHUPS!
For this week, the exercise I’m going to recommend is a pushup using the medicine ball. A standard pushup works your chest, arms and shoulders, but adding this medicine ball pumps up this exercise a notch! It is great for the core, since you have to keep it engaged for your feet to stay on the ball, while you come down and push up strong with each movement. Of course, if you can’t quite get the stability on the ball, you can start with your feet elevated on something stable, I sometimes use dumbbells, or a small step.
Try for 3 sets of 10 reps. Remember, keep that core engaged, lower your body all the way down nice and controlled and push up strong, with purpose.
Let me know what you think when you try it!
